A Night of Shakespeare • Bites from the Bard

Hark, Dubuque!

Have you been wandering through life in a “winter of our discontent,” waiting for a bit of culture that doesn’t involve a four-hour seating and a ruff that chokes thy neck? Well, soft! What light through yonder window breaks? The Driftless Guild, will be presenting an evening of performances featuring some of Sharespeare’s greatest hits! We’re skipping the boring bits and going straight for the “Bard-core” highlights.

It all started when a few local enthusiasts realizing two things: 1) Shakespeare is a vibe, and 2) Dubuque is hungry for it.

Think of it as a Shakespearean sampler platter. This isn’t a dizzying tragedy where everyone dies for three hours—just the best monologues, the spiciest scenes, and the loveliest sonnets. We’ve even got emcees to give you the “CliffsNotes” version so you’re never lost in translation.

When shall we meet again? In thunder, lightning, or in rain? Actually, let’s aim for a clear night on Central Ave:
The Best Part? In the spirit of true community, admission is FREE. You don’t need to be a “Merchant of Venice” to afford this night out! However, if you find that “parting [with your cash] is such sweet sorrow,” the Guild will gratefully accept donations at the door to keep the lights on and the greasepaint flowing.
